Academy of Management Member Jason Good of Aquinas College examines how organizations make sense of and organize with natural systems, with particular interest in biodiversity, ecological sensemaking, the circular economy, and stakeholder theory. He earned his master’s degree and Ph.D. at the University of Michigan. He learned about the interplay of business and nature while working as a fisheries ecologist aboard commercial fishing boats in Alaska. Since then, he has published multiple peer-reviewed journal articles, a scholarly book, Entangled Sensemaking at Sea: Bycatch Management that Makes Good Social and Ecological Sense, and has given numerous professional presentations focusing on how business can be a force for good—for both people and nature.
