Domain Statement

Adopting interdisciplinary and global perspectives, members translate various management and organization theories to consulting practice and vice versa. The division captures and critically analyzes trends across management consulting methods and practices and disseminates the latest thinking, innovative research, and professional consulting insights.

To broaden its reach and make an impact, the division creates linkages and dialogue among all stakeholders in the consulting field. These stakeholders include scholars, practitioners, educators, students, managers, industry leaders, and demographics impacted by consultants’ work, such as workers, community members, and institutional actors. Due to its focus on scientific approaches to management consulting, the division collaborates with the members of many other divisions and interest groups to realize the overarching mission and vision of the Academy of Management.
