Awards and Recognition

• Division and Interest Group (DIG) Awards
  Each Division or Interest Group has responsibility for administering its awards program and the awards are presented prior to and during the Annual Meeting.
• George R. Terry Book Award
  This award is granted annually to the book judged to have made the most outstanding contribution to the global advancement of management knowledge during the previous two years.

The Annual Meeting Program Awards are All-Academy awards, selected by an inclusive nomination process and dedicated award committees.

• Carolyn Dexter Award for Best International Paper
  This award is presented to the paper that best meets the objective of internationalizing the Academy of Management.
• William H. Newman Award for Best Paper Based on a Dissertation
  This award recognizes the best Annual Meeting paper based on a dissertation.

These lifetime Career Achievement Awards are presented each year in conjunction with the Annual Meeting to four outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to the field of management through their service, research, innovative teaching methods, breakthrough developments, and more over the course of their career.

• Distinguished Service Award

Publication Awards are typically presented at the annual business meeting of each journal. In addition to Best Article awards for each journal, AOM journals recognize outstanding service and scholarly achievements through various journal-specific award programs.
