2026 Call for Professional Development Workshop (PDW) Proposals
Division PDW Chair: Mairi Maclean, University of Bath
The Management History Division (MH) is seeking proposals for the Professional Development Workshop (PWD) sessions for the 2026 Academy of Management Annual Meeting in Philadelphia. PDWs will be held in person from Friday 31 July through Sunday 2 August 2026.
Why submit a PDW proposal?
PDWs come in different shapes and forms but have one single goal: to offer opportunities for scholars to learn something new from one another.
Want to promote a debate, disseminate a new method, develop papers for publication? Consider proposing a PDW for Management History.
PDWs are flexible and creative and can generate value for the participants.
Who can submit a PDW proposal?
We invite PDW proposals from scholars in different career stages, members and non-members of the Management History division.
Demographic and geographic diversity in team composition and interdisciplinarity of proposals are encouraged.
Which PDW proposals will be considered?
Your PDW proposal should be aligned with the domain statement and the interest of the Management History Division on the study of temporality and the historical situatedness of organized action.
Please note that there is no overarching central theme for the 2026 AOM Annual Meeting, so that an even wider range of management topics can be explored.
How to submit a PDW proposal?
Please review the Professional Development Workshop (PDW) Submission Guidelines to ensure that your submission complies with the requirements in all details.
The deadline to submit your proposal is Tuesday, 13 January 2026 at 17:00 EST (UTC-5/GMT-5) through the Academy’s Submission Center.
Which criteria will be used to evaluate my PDW proposal?
- We will privilege broad and bold PDW proposals of high social relevance and academic resonance.
- Opportunities for participation, networking, and skill development are expected.
- Novelty of topics, methods, and phenomena examined in the PDW is highly desirable.
- Potential to attract the interest of a variety of scholars both within and outside the MH division will be favored.
