The Academy of Management is proud to launch the AOM Teaching Community. The Teaching Community will bring together AOM members from across disciplines who are committed to rigor, innovation, and impact in the management classroom. The community aims to connect educators around the world to exchange approaches, collaborate across disciplines, share resources, access professional development, and be recognized for their thought leadership in the classroom.

The AOM Teaching Community is built on three pillars:

  • Community — meaningful connections and collaboration between educators across disciplines, career stages, and regions.
  • Content — a centralized Teaching Resource Library of innovative teaching materials, case studies, and artifacts.
  • Events — virtual and in-person events, including monthly webinars and future in-person teaching conferences that bring educators together around the practice of teaching.

Call for Nominations

AOM is seeking self-nominations for the Teaching Community’s founding leadership. This is a rare opportunity to help build and shape a new AOM-wide initiative and influence how AOM supports teaching excellence for years to come.

The Teaching Community is being developed under the leadership of the AOM Board of Governors Teaching Committee. Founding leaders will work closely with the Teaching Committee, fellow volunteers, and AOM staff, and in close collaboration with existing teaching initiatives of the Divisions & Interest Groups (DIGs), building on and connecting teaching expertise and initiatives already underway across AOM.

Leadership Roles

Self-nominations are sought for the following founding leadership roles during the Teaching Community’s three-year pilot:

  • Teaching Community Founding Chair
  • Teaching Community Committee Leaders
    • Community Engagement Committee
    • Annual Meeting Teaching Track Committee
    • Teaching Resource Library Committee
    • Teaching Webinars Committee
    • Teaching Conferences Committee

For detailed role descriptions, information about the selection process, and upcoming informational webinars, please review the call for nominations using the link below.

Other Ways to Get Involved

Members who would like to contribute to the AOM Teaching Community but are not ready to take on a leadership role are also encouraged to get involved. An open volunteer interest form is available for members interested in supporting Teaching Community activities.

Now is the moment to help drive excellence in management education. We hope you will consider volunteering!
