Erik Ian Dane
Erik Dane is a professor of organizational behavior in the Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis. His research focuses on cognition in the workplace. Through a range of methods, he explores how workers can focus their attention, solve problems, and make decisions as effectively as possible. Topics central to his scholarship include epiphanies, expertise, intuition, mindfulness, and mind wandering. His research has been published in a number of leading journals, including Academy of Management Discoveries, Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Administrative Science Quarterly, American Psychologist, Journal of Management, and Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes. At Olin, he teaches courses focused on personal, professional, and organizational transformation. Before joining Olin, he was a faculty member in the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University, where he twice received the Jones School’s Scholarship Excellence Award. He earned his PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and he remembers with fondness the leading lights—and the brisk westerly winds—that surrounded and invigorated him as he worked on his dissertation. His connection to AMD runs deep, as he served as an associate editor for the journal from 2020 to 2023.

Christopher G. Myers
Christopher G. Myers is the inaugural Peetz Family Professor of Leadership, Professor of Management & Organization, and the founding faculty director of the Center for Innovative Leadership at the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School. He also holds joint appointments in anesthesiology and critical care medicine at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and in health policy and management at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. His research and teaching focus on individual learning, leadership development, and innovation, with particular attention to how people learn vicariously and share knowledge in healthcare organizations and other knowledge-intensive work environments. His research has been published in leading management journals, including Academy of Management Annals, Academy of Management Discoveries, Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Perspectives, Academy of Management Review, Administrative Science Quarterly, Journal of Applied Psychology, and Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, as well as in premier medical journals. Chris has served as an elected Representative-at-Large for the Organizational Behavior and Managerial and Organizational Cognition divisions of the Academy of Management, and on the editorial boards of several AOM journals. Prior to joining the faculty at Johns Hopkins University, Chris served on the faculty of the Harvard Business School and received his PhD in management and organizations from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business.

Jennifer Woolley
Jennifer Lynn Woolley is a professor of management and entrepreneurship at Santa Clara University. Her research and teaching examine entrepreneurship, innovation, and the emergence of firms, industries, and technologies. Her recent work focuses on how entrepreneurial outcomes are shaped by the interaction of founder characteristics, organizational forms, and evolving technological and institutional contexts. Dr. Woolley enjoys exploring unique questions across both science-based (e.g., genetics, nanotechnology, AI) and craft industries (e.g., bean-to-bar chocolate, king crab fishing). This includes analyzing the efficacy of incubators and accelerators, the timing of science and technology policies, and the role of emerging technologies like Generative AI and blockchain in managing competitive relationships. Collectively, her research maps the journey from venture emergence to industry-wide change, balancing the human element of entrepreneurship with the structural forces of policy and technology. Dr. Woolley’s research has been published in the Academy of Management Discoveries, Organization Science, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, Journal of Business Venturing, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Strategy Science, and Journal of Product Innovation Management. Before returning to academia, Professor Woolley worked in banking and international finance.

Sarah Doyle
Sarah P. Doyle is an Associate Professor of Management and Organizations at the University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management. Her research examines social hierarchy, status, power, competition, and cooperation in organizations, with particular attention to how people navigate the opportunities and threats created by their standing relative to others. Across her work, she studies how hierarchy shapes team outcomes and interpersonal behavior, including helping, voice, unethical conduct, and negotiation, as well as how individuals respond to status gains, losses, and uncertainty about where they stand.
Her research has been published in leading journals, including Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, Academy of Management Discoveries, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Journal of Applied Psychology, and Management Science, among others. Sarah has received several research, teaching, and reviewing awards, including the INGroup Early Career Award, the Western Academy of Management’s Ascendant Scholar Award, Best Reviewer Awards from AMJ and AMD, and multiple teaching awards at both MBA and undergraduate levels.
Sarah also serves on the editorial boards of AMJ and AMR, and she is an elected member of the Conflict Management Division leadership track within the Academy of Management. She received her PhD from The Ohio State University and her BA from Duke University. Outside of work, Sarah enjoys hiking, golfing, painting, and spending time volunteering at the animal shelter, where she is passionate about helping dogs feel safe, loved, and ready for their next chapter.

Lauren Howe
Lauren Howe is an Associate Professor in Management at the University of Zurich. Her research focuses on the “human side” of the future of work and leadership, including topics such as what happens when leaders reveal their own human sides and how societal narratives portray the role of fundamentally human skills in a world of work shaped by technology. Her research on the effects of entrepreneurs disclosing personal flaws in their pitches on investment was honored with a 2022 Academy of Management Organizational Behavior division award for the Best Paper with Entrepreneurship Implications, and she received a prestigious Swiss National Science Foundation Starting Grant to examine leader flaw disclosure.
Lauren’s research has been published in journals such as Academy of Management Discoveries, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Journal of Business Ethics, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Nature Climate Change, and Science Advances. She served as an associate editor on AMD’s Special Research Forum on “The Human Side of the Future of Work: Understanding the Role People Play in Shaping a Changing World.”
Lauren earned her PhD in social psychology from Stanford University. With a passion for research that has an impact on business and society, Lauren has authored multiple articles for Harvard Business Review’s digital edition. Lauren is also enthusiastic about writing about science for the popular press and has written articles for outlets such as the New York Times, The Atlantic, and TIME magazine.

Li Huang
Li Huang is an Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior at INSEAD. She received her PhD in management and organizations from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Li’s research focuses on the development and impact of power and status, interpersonal trust, and individual creativity. Specifically, she examines the role of psychological contradictions and associated uncertainties in these processes. Her interest in this topic has led her to two fundamental questions facing modern organizations: (1) How do contradictions and uncertainties affect workplace performance and relationships? (2) How can we resolve them in a way that fulfills organizations and their members’ needs for interdependence or independence? Li’s research has been published in top academic journals, such as Academy of Management Journal, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Psychological Science, and Behavioral and Brain Sciences. Her research has been recognized by the field through awards, fellowships, and grants from the American Psychological Association, the Society of Experimental Social Psychology, and the Dispute Resolution Research Center. Li has served on the editorial boards of Academy of Management Journal and Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes. She has also provided her expert opinions on management topics to top practitioner-oriented journals and media outlets. Li’s teaching in the MBA and EMBA programs at INSEAD has received numerous awards.

Michaela J. Kerrissey
Michaela J. Kerrissey is an Associate Professor of Management at the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health. She conducts multimethod research on teamwork, leadership, and psychological safety, with a focus on healthcare and science. Her research has been published in leading management journals, such as Administrative Science Quarterly, prominent health journals, such as Health Affairs, and popular outlets, such as Harvard Business Review. She co-authored the forthcoming book Building a Fearless Organization: A Fieldbook for Creating Psychological Safety at Work. In 2025, she was elected as the academic-at-large for the Academy of Management Healthcare division. She has received accolades such as the Warren Bennis Prize, listing on Thinkers50 Radar, and a best paper award from the Academy of Management. She earned a PhD from the Harvard Business School, a master’s degree from the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health, and a BA from Duke University. Before academia, she was a consulting team leader at The Bridgespan Group, launched by Bain & Company.

Hendrik Wilhelm
Hendrik Wilhelm is a full professor and holder of the RMI Chair for Strategic Organization at Witten/Herdecke University, where he also serves as deputy director of the Reinhard Mohn Institute of Management (RMI). His research and teaching focus on how managers can foster collaboration among employees within and across teams to create more successful, adaptable, and innovative organizations. He has a particular interest in psychological safety, relational affect, and the Behavioral Theory of the Firm. His work has been published in journals such as Organization Science, Academy of Management Discoveries, Journal of Management Studies, and Organization Studies. He serves on the editorial review boards of Organization Science and the Journal of Management Studies. Before joining Witten/Herdecke University, Hendrik completed his postdoctoral qualification (habilitation) and PhD in management at the University of Cologne. He was a visiting scholar at Cambridge Judge Business School and the Rotman School of Management. Hendrik has received several awards for his work, including AMD’s Outstanding Reviewer award and two teaching awards.

Michael Malgrande
Mike has been AMJ’s Managing Editor since 2007. He has also served as Managing Editor for Academy of Management Learning & Education (AMLE) since joining the Academy of Management staff. Mike attended the University of Northern Colorado as a Journalism major before receiving his BA in Communications from Pace University. His professional background has been in the publishing industry, most recently as Senior Editor at Scholastic in the science reference division. Other experience includes editing, writing, and book production for M.E. Sharpe, Inc., Elsevier Science, Oceana Publications, and the American Water Works Association in Denver, CO.
