Tazeeb Rajwani
Tazeeb S. Rajwani is Professor of International Business and Strategy at University of Surrey. His research focuses mainly on corporate political activity, nonmarket strategy, sustainability and CSR. He has published articles in leading journals such as Organization Science, Journal of International Business Studies, Academy of Management Perspectives, Journal of Management Studies, Global Strategy Journal, Journal of World Business, Strategic Organization, Groups & Organizations Management, British Journal of Management, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of International Management, International Business Review, among others. His research has been reported in the press, including the BBC, The Times, Irish Times, Forbes and Financial Times. His research has also informed the UK government on their Net Zero policy for 2050. He has published a highly acclaimed book contracted by Oxford University Press on “Aligning for Advantage: Competitive Strategies for the Political and Social Arenas” and a companion on “Nonmarket strategy” with Routledge press. He serves as Editor-in-Chief for Multinational Business Review, Associate Editor for Academy of Management Perspectives, Consulting Editor for Journal of International Management, editorial board member of the Journal of International Business Studies, Global Strategy Journal, British Journal of Management, Long Range Planning and Journal of World Business. He has a PhD from Imperial College London and has previously worked for KPMG in Corporate Finance.

Gilbert Kofi Adarkwah
Gilbert Kofi Adarkwah is an Assistant Professor of Strategy and International Business at HEC Montréal. He holds a PhD in Business and Economics from BI Norwegian Business School and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Oslo.
His research examines how firms navigate complex international environments shaped by geopolitical risk, institutional uncertainty, and state–business relations, with a particular focus on emerging markets and Africa. His work sits at the intersection of international business, non-market strategy, and political economy, focusing on geopolitical alignment, corruption, and development finance. He has published in leading journals, including Strategic Management Journal, Journal of International Business Studies, and Journal of International Business Policy, and his work has received recognition such as a top-cited article award at Strategic Management Journal and the Academy of Management IM Division Best Paper Award.
Dr. Adarkwah is actively engaged in the academic community. He co-organizes the Global Strategy Workshop and the AIB Doctoral Consortium, serves as a reviewer for several leading journals in international business and strategy, and collaborates with policymakers, development finance institutions, and firms to translate research insights into practice.
Prior to academia, he held senior roles in industry, including Vice President of Strategy and Head of the CEO Office at Aker Energy, as well as leadership positions in insurance and pharmaceuticals. This experience informs his research and teaching on the interface between global strategy, institutions, and real-world decision making. -

Marina Gama
Marina Gama is an Associate Professor of Business Strategy at the São Paulo School of Business Administration at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV EAESP). Her research focuses on the intersection of institutions, corporate governance, and nonmarket strategy, with particular attention to business groups, emerging markets, cross-sector partnerships, and the relationship between corporate political activity and corporate social responsibility. Her work has been published in leading journals including the Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, and Global Strategy Journal. She currently serves as the AOM STR Global Representative (2024–2027) and as Representative-at-Large of the SMS Stakeholder Strategy Interest Group (2025–2026).

Christopher Hartwell
Christopher A. Hartwell is currently Professor of International Business Policy and Head of the International Management Institute at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) School of Management and Law and University Professor at Kozminski University in Poland. A leading scholar on the nexus of politics and business, Prof. Hartwell writes extensively on political institutions, populism, political violence, transition economics, and Russia and the former Soviet Union. Prof. Hartwell has lived and worked throughout the former Soviet Union and Central Europe and has advised governments in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tonga, the Solomon Islands, Kosovo, and elsewhere. In terms of scholarly achievements, Professor Hartwell has published in journals such as Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of World Business, Global Strategy Journal, Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization, Explorations in Economic History, Journal of Comparative Economics, and Regional Studies. Prof. Hartwell holds a PhD in Economics from the Warsaw School of Economics, a master’s in public policy from Harvard, a BA in Political Science and Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, and his habilitation from Kozminski. He is also the author of Two Roads Diverge: The Transition Experience of Poland and Ukraine (Cambridge University Press, 2016), and Kazakhstan: Snow Leopard at the Crossroads (Routledge, 2023) and is currently under contract with Cambridge University Press, writing a book on Russian business history and imperialism.

Chang Hoon Oh
Chang Hoon Oh is the William & Judy Docking Professor of Strategy in the School of Business at the University of Kansas. He earned his Ph.D. from Indiana University. His research focuses on how firms navigate complex market and nonmarket environments, with particular emphasis on sustainability, corporate social responsibility, and organizational resilience under political, environmental, and social pressures. His work has appeared in leading journals such as Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Journal of International Business Studies, and Journal of Management Studies. He also pursues interdisciplinary research, and his research has been also published in outlets across economics, political science, and environmental studies. His research has received multiple scholarly honors, including best paper awards from the Academy of Management, the Academy of International Business, and the European International Business Academy. His work has also been featured in prominent media outlets such as the Financial Times, Forbes, The Economist, and Harvard Business Review. Chang Hoon has served in a variety of editorial roles for several journals, including the Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of International Business Policy, Journal of World Business, Global Strategy Journal, and Multinational Business Review. He has also collaborated with organizations such as the World Wildlife Fund for Nature (WWF), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and EY Korea.

Vittoria G. Scalera
Vittoria G. Scalera is an Associate Professor of International Business at the Amsterdam Business School and the Director of the research platform “A Sustainable Future” at the Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Amsterdam. She was awarded the John H. Dunning Visiting Fellowship, sponsored by the John H. Dunning Center for International Business at Henley Business School (University of Reading).
Her research primarily lies at the intersection of international business and innovation, focusing on cross-border innovation strategies, the micro-foundations of international knowledge sourcing, diversity in innovation teams, and the green transition of multinational enterprises. Her research has received several awards from the Academy of Management, the Academy of International Business (AIB), the European International Business Academy (EIBA), and other academic associations. She has led large research projects funded by the European Commission and the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO).
Her work has been published, or is forthcoming, in leading academic journals, including the Journal of International Business Studies, Research Policy, Global Strategy Journal, Journal of World Business, Industrial and Corporate Change, and The Leadership Quarterly, among others. She has co-edited an Oxford University Press book titled “Cross-border Innovation in a Changing World.”
She currently serves, or has served, on the Editorial Review Boards of the Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of International Business Policy, Global Strategy Journal, Journal of World Business, and Journal of Management. She served as elected Secretary-Treasurer of the AIB Western Europe Chapter and was the 2020–2022 Representative-at-Large of the Strategic Management Society Global Strategy Interest Group. She currently serves as National Representative for the Netherlands at EIBA.

Hong Zhu
Hong (Susan) Zhu is a tenured Associate Professor of Management at Peking University, HSBC Business School. She earned her Ph.D. in Strategic Management from Texas A&M University. Dr. Zhu’s research centers on mergers and acquisitions (M&As), with a particular focus on cross-border M&As, strategic leadership, and strategic human capital. She explores how institutional environments, cultural values, and leadership—especially that of CEOs, boards, and top management teams—impact acquisition decisions and post-acquisition outcomes. More recently, her work has delved into the role of strategic human capital in shaping acquisition processes and success.
Her research has been published in leading journals such as Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Management, Journal of Management Studies, Asia Pacific Journal of Management, Journal of World Business, Business Horizons, International Business Review, Journal of International Management, Advanced Management Studies (in Chinese), and Peking University Financial Review (in Chinese). Dr. Zhu currently serves as Associate Editor for Asia Pacific Journal of Management (May 2025–Present) and Area Editor for Competitive Strategy at Advanced Management Studies (January 2025–December 2027).
