George R. Terry Book Award

The George R. Terry Book Award is granted annually to the book judged to have made the most outstanding contribution to the global advancement of management knowledge.

Nominations for 2026 are now closed.

The recipient of the 2026 Terry Book Award will be announced during the Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management, Philadelphia, PA, USA 31 July-4 August 2026.

Award Criteria

Authored books (not edited books or textbooks) published within the preceding two years.
Judged to have made the most outstanding contribution to the advancement of management theory, conceptualization, research, or practice.

Nomination Process

Nomination Submissions: Complete the George R. Terry Book Award Nomination Form to register your nomination with the Academy of Management.
Book Submissions: an electronic copy of each nominated book must be sent to the Award Committee for review along with a George R. Terry Book Award Nomination Form. Award judges will not distribute the book files from publishers for award consideration. Hard copies may be requested. For more information, please contact Michael McShane, AOM Governance Manager.
