Leveraging Estonia’s global reputation for producing more “unicorn” start-ups per capita than anywhere else in the world, Estonian Business School is hosting the “Teaching Entrepreneurship in the Age of AI” workshop from November 9-10, 2026. In partnership with AOM’s Community Accelerator Program and Entrepreneurship Division, the workshop will strengthen the skills of business faculty and PhD students to foster the next generation of transformative entrepreneurs using research-based methods and real-world insights.

Content:

• Participants will learn effectuation, the core framework for entrepreneurship education that teaches students how expert entrepreneurs actually think. Saras Sarasvathy, the creator of effectuation theory, will explore best practices for teaching effectuation in the classroom.
• Case method experts will present strategies for case teaching so that educators can challenge students to solve real-world problems in the classroom.
• Participants will visit an Estonian AI start-up to hear the founders’ experiences first-hand so that educators bring practitioner insights into the classroom.

Speakers:

• Saras Sarasvathy is a Professor Emerita at the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia. She is a leading scholar of entrepreneurial expertise and the creator of effectuation theory.
• Indu Khurana is the Chair of the ENT Division Teaching Committee and Associate Professor of Economics and Business at Hampden-Sydney College.
