Presented in collaboration with AOM’s Community Accelerator Program, this Spanish-language webinar hosted by the Laboratorio Internacional en Ciencias de la Gestión Pública presents a critical examination of artificial intelligence (AI) in organizations from the perspective of Organization Studies (OS). It approaches AI as a socio-technical technology that reshapes organizational capabilities, routines, control regimes, employment relations, decision-making rationalities, and power relations.

The discussion will address key issues such as the implications of AI for work, algorithmic management, AI as an organizational capability, power, inequality, and strategic tensions. The webinar will conclude by proposing a research agenda grounded in the Latin American context.

The central question guiding the discussion is not what AI can do for organizations, but rather what kinds of organizations, forms of work, and social order AI contributes to producing.

This webinar is organized with the support of the Management Consulting (MC) Division of the Academy of Management, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen its engagement with the Latin American academic and professional community and to foster critical dialogue on emerging challenges for organizations and management.
